People are making gravy rubs for their roast chicken with granules

Jun 08, 2023

Any Sunday at home is made significantly better by a roast chicken.

But the latest trend on TikTok takes a cupboard staple and reinvents it to create a wonderful addition to the humble roast dinner.

Foodies on the platform have taken Bisto granules and developed a gravy rub that's slathered onto the chicken for a crispy skin.

All it requires is a few simple ingredients to mix with your favourite gravy granules. Then this mixture is popped on a roast chicken before it heads into the oven.

A TikTok video posted by @caughtsnackin, detailing the hack, has racked up more than 332,000 views so far – along with 12,000 likes and nearly 100 comments.

He adds that to complete your roast dinner, pop the vegetables and potatoes underneath the roast chicken on a wire rack, as this will ensure they mop up any juices that escape.
