Ube Love shares Filipino treats at Bloomington Food Truck Fridays, market

Dec 08, 2023

Pinoy Garden Cafe's tent at Bloomington's Food Truck Fridays and a Saturday Bloomington Community Farmers' Market has been stocked recently with purple rolls and treats. Those creations are made by 16-year-old Kaitleen St. Clair, a certified food handler and daughter of the owners of Pinoy Garden.

Ube is a purple yam originally from the Philippines and is the basic ingredient providing the purple coloring that dominates the Ube Love items, from yeast rolls to cookies and other desserts. Besides selling her baked goods at the tent, St. Clair also offers Ube Love desserts and rolls at events. Upcoming events include the Bayanihan Fiesta, a Philippine Independence Day celebration on June 10 in Indianapolis.
