Everyone has thoughts on which spaghetti sauce is the best and most people won't change their minds. Those people haven't tried Delgrosso Sauce, though.
If you’re not from Pennsylvania, that name might seem a mystery. However if you’re from the Tipton area or anywhere close, you know how beloved Delgrosso is. While the history is long and storied, it began with Mafalda and Ferdinand DelGrosso falling in love.
The two eventually opened a restaurant and noticed customers enjoying their pasta sauce so much that they wanted to pay more to take it home later. From there, an idea was born along with the amusement park formerly known as Bland's Park. Fast-forward to 1951 and the sauce was taking over the hearts and stomachs of Central PA residents.
The family is now in its third generation and honestly, it doesn't look like things are slowing down anytime soon. With a sauce as good as theirs though, there's a reason why Delgrosso is a name that still brings a smile to people both in and out of Pennsylvania.
Let me start by saying that I’ve grown up eating Delgrosso Sauce and I am a die-hard fan. I will downright refuse any other spaghetti sauce. If you’re new to the Delgrosso line though, then you might be curious about what flavors the brand offers and I’m happy to tell you.
Let's start with the original line, which features multiple options for all pasta lovers. There is Mariana, Garlic & Cheese, Roasted Garlic, Meat Flavored, Meatless, Mushroom, Garden Style, Three Cheese, Extra Tomatoes, Pepperoni Flavored and Basil. My personal favorite is the Three Cheese and even after decades, it's a product I’ll never tire of. I don't know how it always tastes so good but I can't get enough.
Delgrosso also branched out with its organic sauces which include Organic Roasted Garlic Sauce, Organic Mariana, and Organic Tomato Basil. The brand also has ultra-premium sauce offerings including Garlic Gala, Alfredo Sauce, Tomato Basil, Vodka sauce and pizza sauces among others.
If you’re not looking to add some flavor to your favorite pasta though, Delgrosso doesn't just stop at pasta sauce. The brand also has pizza sauces, salsa, and even sloppy joe sauce. Frankly, no matter what you’re looking to make, there is a bit of something for everyone within the brand's multitude of products.
If you’re able to head out to Delgrosso's Amusement Park, that's the real treat. The amusement park is full of rides, a water park, and tons of amazing food. With offerings such as meatball subs, sloppy joe fries, or even Marianna's Hoagies, there is no shortage of delicious food to enjoy. In addition, there is a weekly pasta featured on Wednesdays so if you’re ever in town, it's worth looking into.
Regardless if you’re from Pennsylvania or one of the surrounding states, you can't go wrong in trying some delicious Delgrosso sauce. Even if you’re not from the area, you can still order the sauces if you want to try them order the sauces if you want to give them a try. As I said, I highly recommend the Three Cheese but I’ve tried a few and enjoyed them all.
